The Centre for Speech Technology Research (CSTR) at The University of Edinburgh is an interdisciplinary research centre with an international reputation in the field of spoken language processing.
CSTR has been strongly interdisciplinary since its inception in 1984, and currently numbers about 35 researchers (faculty, research fellows, PhD students and visiting fellows) with expertise in speech recognition, speech synthesis, machine learning, and multimodal interaction. CSTR has been involved in numerous regional, national and international projects, including the IPs AMI and AMIDA (jointly coordinated with IDIAP), the STREP EMIME, Marie Curie EST Host Fellowship project Edinburgh Speech Science and Technology (EdSST) and ITN SCALE.
